ICS Announcements

Dear Parents,

Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday, February 22.  All are invited to join us for mass at 9:00 as we begin our Lenten journey.

Due to some confusion with the changeover in hot lunch menus, meals containing meat were ordered for this week.  Because it is the practice of our faith to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, we will provide a vegetarian option for the students.  If you would like us to order cheese pizza for your child, please send a note to your child’s classroom teacher TOMORROW MORNING so that we can place the order for Wednesday.  The lunch that you had ordered will be sent home.

It has been set!  Please mark your calendars for our annual Chow and Cha Cha April 21st 2012! We are looking forward to another fun family evening,  filled with good food and dancing.  It’s sure to be a fun filled night!

Dear ICS Families,

We have just completed the 2nd week of the revised Hot Lunch Program.  We hope your children are enjoying the changes.

If your child is absent on a Hot Lunch day, but you have already placed an order, you can:
·         contact the school to arrange a lunch pick-up
OR
·         have a sibling bring the lunch home for your absent child

Please note that limited storage space does not allow us to “hold” unclaimed lunches.  Any meals not spoken for, by the end of the lunch period, will be discarded.

Yvonne Antonio, a former ICS parent, is going on a mission trip to Peru and is asking for donations of new or nearly new school supplies (pencils, pens, coloured pencils, erasers, notebooks, etc.) to take to the children there.  If you have any extra supplies at home that you would be willing to donate, please send them to the school by Friday, February 10.  Thank you for your generosity!

If anyone is looking for an upright piano, a staff member has a friend who is looking to give hers away.  The interested family would have to arrange to transport it before February 10.  Please call the school office for details.

There will be a Bake Sale this Friday. Proceeds go towards next year’s grade 7 outdoor education.

With snow in the forecast for this week, please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather.  Students should wear boots to school and bring their school shoes to change into once inside.  Students are also encouraged to pack an extra pair of socks in case theirs get wet.

If school is cancelled because of snow, it will be posted on our website under “Breaking News” by 6:30 a.m.  We will also ask CKNW, News 1130 and Global TV to announce the closure.

This is a gentle reminder that the deadline for February hot lunch orders is Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

To place your order

• Go to www.breadgardenkidseat.com

• Click the NEW PARENT ACCOUNT SIGN UP button (left side of the home page.)
• First you will need to open an account if you have not done so before. Submit your information.  Please sign up your account using the parent’s name.
•  IMPORTANT: You will be asked to “Add Students to your Account.” Be sure to create a profile for each of your children including their grade.  You will need to have students in your account before you will be able to access the menu.
• Note your passwords for future orders – your email address will become your USERNAME. You will create your own password.
• Once you have signed up, you are ready to place your orders for each date offered.
• Click on “Place Order.”  The website will guide you.  Have your credit card ready for payment.
• The next time you wish to place orders your account will be ready to go! Simply login to PARENT LOGIN, use your passwords and “Place Order.”
• Helpful Tip!  To determine if you have already placed an order for a particular date or to review your orders, click on “ORDER HISTORY” in the left hand column.
