It’s not something we like to think about, but knowing your role in an emergency is necessary to mitigate panic and confusion and to keep our families safe. ICS has a 39-page plan that is reviewed and updated yearly, which outlines what we do in case of an emergency.
Some components of the ICS-EPP are: - Yearly risk assessment of the school’s building, equipment, and grounds and execution of these recommendations.
- Emergency Drills: several fire & earthquake classroom drills and one emergency release drill during the school year.
- Checklists & procedures for school staff and Emergency Response Team volunteers.
